  2. TAX IMPLICATIONS OF INNOVATIONS IN TECHNOLOGY - CALL CENTRES AND INTERNET CAFES The current global environment will require Tax Administrations to tap into their innovative spirit to an even greater degree if they are to perform proactively in a rapidly developing electronic age.

TAX IMPLICATIONS OF INNOVATIONS IN TECHNOLOGY - CALL CENTRES AND INTERNET CAFES OBJECTIVES • To identify innovative ways that the internet and call centres can be used to enhance tax administration • To develop innovative tax measures that can be implemented to raise revenue from call centres and internet cafes • To determine the impact that taxation would have on these services

TAX IMPLICATIONS OF INNOVATIONS IN TECHNOLOGY - CALL CENTRES AND INTERNET CAFES CONDUCT OF WORKSHOP Delegates will break out into six groups, agree on a leader and discuss the questions for about 15 minutes. A three minute presentation would be made by each group at the end of the discussions.

TAX IMPLICATIONS OF INNOVATIONS IN TECHNOLOGY - CALL CENTRES AND INTERNET CAFES TEAM DISCUSSIONS – GROUPS 4-6 • Discuss three (3) ways that call centres can contribute to the improvement and performance of tax administrations • Internet cafes are now becoming prevalent in the Caribbean; explain how this can enhance tax administrations
