  1. Nebraska City JM Ravens2012 Parents Guide

  2. Teamwork • Sportsmanship • Courage • Strength • Loyalty • Confidence • Through all of these building blocks, we will be competitive and successful, regardless of wins and losses. Basic Philosophy

  3. Coaches: • Head Coach: Mick Joe (QB’s & D-Line, Off/Def Coordinator) • 402-209-7327 • mickj523@gmail.com • Assistant Coach – Brian Hoover (O-Line, DB’s & Special Teams) • Assistant Coach – Jason Southard (Running Backs, Linebackers) • Assistant Coach – Brian Kochanwicz (Receivers, Defensive Backs) • Assistant Coach – Jason Holman (Receivers, Linebackers)

  4. Please be on time to practice • 10-15 minutes early to practice is perfect • Please be on time to pick up your son after practice! • If your player is habitually late or missing for practice, it may affect their playing time and opportunities in games. • If your player misses one practice in a week, the minimum play rule for that week is only 4 plays per half, per game. • If your player misses both practices in a week, there is no obligation or requirement for them to play in the game that weekend. • This comes directly from the league president. • We will always go above and beyond to give every player a lot of playing opportunities, but we must also look out for the best interests of the team and those that are at practice. • Bring a ½ gallon water jug to practice – please label • Water is just as essential as any other piece of equipment. • No water will result in a reduction in practice for that player • Communication- Email/Texts • Please get in the habit of checking your email/texts every day for practice or game updates and information. We cannot call everyone with every change or update, so it is the parents’ responsibility to make sure they are in the loop by checking their emails/texts. Parents Guide

  5. All concerns should be brought to Coach Joe by email/text. • Please do not contact assistant coaches for team issues. • It is best to wait 24 hours to bring up a concern (i.e. not immediately following a game or practice). • If a concern is about safety, then those issues can and should be brought to my attention immediately. • All issues will be addressed professionally and promptly. • I will listen to all concerns and try to be as fair as possible, but I will always do what is best for the entire team. • If there any question or concern that I can not resolve, or if you don’t feel comfortable discussing with me, please contact Brad Kingery. Issues / Concerns

Have all your equipment with you – label everything! • Mouth Guard • Required to have strap to attach Mouth Guard to helmet • Please have an extra Mouth Guard • Please Give it to Coach Joe (already formed) with name on it in a zip lock bag • Water Jug • Cleats • Socks • We would like for all of the kids to have long Navy blue socks for games if possible • Helmet/Chin Strap • Please work on snaps so they go on easier (try using a pencil to lubricate the snaps). • Write down an identification number from the helmet in case helmets get accidentally swapped. • Shoulder Pads and Leg/Hip pads • Practice/Game Pants and Jersey • Optional • Cup/Slider Shorts, Under Armour type shirts Football Equipment
