  5. Speech • People talking about others

  6. Extermination • To kill or destroy somebody or something completely

  7. Discrimination • Treating people differently- unfair treatment of one person or group, usually because of prejudice about race, ethnicity, age, religion, or gender

  8. Avoidance • The gossip and talk leads to the avoidance of a group of people.

  9. Physical attack • Harm using violence

  14. Contemporary Genocide • The Holocaust was not the first and is not the last genocide. Since 1900, about 170 million people worldwide have been killed. Many others have been raped, tortured, starved and otherwise oppressed in an attempt to eradicate their religious or ethnic groups.

  15. Discussion questions • Who was responsible? • Are you responsible if you do not try to stop things like this? • Why do people treat other human beings in ways like these?
