  8. BSC Guide (Nextsteps)

  9. 1. BSC structure • Gather companies, public sector players and other players active in the biomass (bioenergy) sector within an area. • Membersrecruitment : • 25-30 members by the end of the year • 60 members by the end of the project • Recruitmentprocedure: • Fill the « Letter of intent » (seenextslide) • Fill the « Description of activitiesform »: information on needs/skills of the members(seenextslide) • Potential validation of membership by steeringcommitee/board of directors(seenextslide) • Publishinformation about the company/member on BioenNWwebsite

  10. 1. BSC structure 1. Letter of intent Aim : To obtain a formaladhesion of the contact provinghisinterest for the project. Utility : To know the contact details to reachhim : • Sending of the newsletter • Invitation to ourevents • List and easilytargetdesired people • Take contact if potential business opportunities • … Start withfree membership

  11. 1. BSC structure 2. Description of activitiesform Aim : To know the contact and the activities of hiscompany. Utility : To be able to assure his promotion on the website or during a networking event. Note: Whatisyourcore business ? 5 possibilities: • You have biomassfeedstocksavailable Supplier of biomass • You are not technology manufacturer but youcanprovideannexed services for biomassproject Professionnel services and activities • You are manufacturer of : Planting/harvesting machine of feedstocks Means of transportation for biomass Storage & handlingdevices for biomass Biomasstreatment (preparation) & transformation solutions Biomassenergyvalorization technologies Ancillary or othersannexedequipments for energyvalorization District heating components • You are looking for someheat, electricity, gas, digestate, … Final user • You are a cluster, a « BSC », … Association, press, …

  14. 3. Study and data gathering Aim: Gather as much information as possible on biomass source, technology, environment, finance, subsidies, etc. (fromconferences, exhibitions, experts, …) Utility: Be ready to informyourmembers on specifictopics (regulation, projects, supports, feedstocks,…) To do: Fill in the « Template for subsidies » Excel file with: • Support for consultancy and other • Support for energy production • Support for investments • Taxes deduction • Support for R&D projects • Support for innovativeproject • … For each support, itgives: a description, the eligiblesector, if it’s cumulative or not, whenit has to berequested, the amounts and limitations, …and finally, an address to obtain more information. ( SUMMARY to help YOU giving basic advices to interested people)

  15. 4. Project support • Project development and BUSINESS CASES Weadvisetwogeneralapproaches : • Reactiveapproach (let the people come to us and react on demand): • « To be an information center on the theme of bioenergy » • « to answergeneral or specificdemandrelated to bionenergy » • « to help on bioenergyprojectdevelopment, specificneeds or total project • Proactive approach • Concentrateeffort on technologies studied on the project (pyrolysis, biomethanation, etc.) • Concentrateon difficultbiomass : • digestatefrombiogas unit • sewadgesludge • organicwaste • pollutedwood • non-homogeneousbiomass • … whichneedpyrolysis to bevalorised
