Communication and Information • The MLC maintains a network of contacts – one member in each UK laboratory • This network is used to disseminate professional information agreed by Council • Also used to gather information/opinions from the membership for Council • Maintain a current list of ACC members • MLC stand at Spring Conference

  6. Promotion PROMOTE ACC MEMBERSHIP TO NON-MEMBERS • MLC and GT stands at conferences • ACC/MLC flyer (to be distributed through the MLC network of contacts)

  7. CAREERS INFORMATION • Job profile for University Careers departments in the UK • A separate job profile has been written forthe government Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) Connexions 'jobs4u' website • Careers Fairs

  8. SUPPORT • Training • Continuing Professional Development (CPD) • Registration

  9. TRAINING • Organise session at the annual ACC training course to introduce new trainees to ACC and MLC • Organise sessions at conferences to assist with clarification of training and professional issues

  10. CPD • Designed a portfolio format for maintaining CPD records • This can be found at www.cytogenetics.org.uk/mlc/cpd.htm

  11. REGISTRATION • MLC have uploaded a sample registration portfolio to the ACC website • This can be accessed by going to the ACC website (www.cytogenetics.org.uk) • Click on “Membership Liaison Committee” then click on “Sample Registration Portfolio” • Aiming to get the sample portfolio on the Association for Clinical Scientists (ACS) website
