  2. Information about the chateau • When was the châteatu built? 1515-1527 • For whom was the châteatu built? Philippe Lesbahy • For what reason was the châteatu built? To replaced the small fortified castle

  3. Three unique features of the château • 1. The monumental right staircase concentrates the essential of the very rich carved decoration; columns, pilasters, entablatures, shells and medallions. • 2.The library has a fireplace. • 3. When climbing the steps, the characters sculpted in the vault's lockets watch you.

  4. Two Important events: • 1. The initial fortress was subjected to several events, and in particular the fire caused by Charles VII during the One hundred Year old war. • 2. In 1899, after the Second Empire, the last marquis de Biencourt, ruined, must sell the grounds and the furniture of the castle.

  5. Two Important people: • 1. Gilles Berthelot inherited it from his dad and begins the modifications from the building by expressing his passion for the Italian Renaissance. • 2. Charles VII caused a fire.

  6. My opinion of the château • The châteatu is very beautiful with a technical history. I would like to visit it one day. I would even like to live there!
