  1. ALL ABOUT SPELMAN Spelman was founded on April 11,1881 as Atlanta Baptist Female Seminary by Sophia B. Packard and Harriet E. Giles in the basement of Friendship Baptist Church, the Rev. Frank Quarles, pastor and is located on 350 Spelman Lane S.W. Atlanta, Georgia.

  2. BEVERLY DANIEL TATUM The name of current president of Spelman College is Beverly Daniel Tatum. She was been the president for nine years, since 2002.

Entrance Requirements To get Into Spelman College, you need t make sure the following items are submitted: • Your completed application, either printed or submitted online • A $35 nonrefundable paper application fee or a $25 nonrefundable online application fee • High school transcripts in a sealed envelope, forwarded from your high school guidance office 4. Your personal essay • SAT I or ACT scores, forwarded from the Educational • Testing Service or the ACT Reporting Service Two letters of recommendation. If you apply online, remember to print and complete the counselor and teacher recommendation forms

  10. MY AREA OF STUDY • The area of study I want to pursue in college is science and medicine. Spelman has manydifferent areas of study but medicine and science is the one I really wanted to pursue.
