Project Africa Heart • Afrikaherz is a non-governmental community-based organization working under VIA(Verband für interkulturelle Arbeit, Reginalverband Berlin/Brandenburg) • Aims and Objectives To develop a resource network to meet or promote the health, legal and socio-economic needs of African migrants living in Berlin , Germany.To provide possible answers to all questions relating to Health with a specific focus on HIV/AIDS prevention, care and social issues.

  3. Services • Health and Social Counselling in different languages • Home care and Hospital visitation • Seminars on HIV/AIDS • Workshops and Campaigns • Networking • Lobbying • Fundraising • Initiating and supporting of Self-Help groups

  5. HIV/AIDS in African Communities in Germany Statistics of Africans living in Berlin • According to the Statistisches Landesamt Berlin 2004, there are about 17,234 Africans living in Berlin. Cameroonians make up 7.7% percent (1,328).
