Question 9 : Help Screen The most current a normal plug can carry is 13 A. A device has to have its own cable and circuit if the current it uses would be more than 13 A. The more powerful the device, the more current it takes. Devices which are made to heat up always use a lot more power than those which are not meant to heat up. Back

Our homes will have several different fuses to protect both individual devices, and whole circuits. These days circuit breakers are more common than fuses because they are easier to reset.
