  2. Exodus 4:10-13 Then Moses said to the Lord, "O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue." So the Lord said to him, " Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the Lord? Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say."

  4. Excuses of Moses Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt. But Moses said to God, " Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?“ - Exodus 3:10-11

  6. Excuses of Moses But he said, "O my Lord, please send by the hand of whomever else You may send." So the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and He said: "Is not Aaron the Levite your brother? I know that he can speak well. And look, he is also coming out to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.

  7. Excuses of Moses Now you shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth. And I will be with your mouth and with his mouth, and I will teach you what you shall do. So he shall be your spokesman to the people. And he himself shall be as a mouth for you, and you shall be to him as God. – Exodus 4:10-16

  10. Excuses for Unfaithfulness So Aaron said, "Do not let the anger of my lord become hot. You know the people, that they are set on evil. For they said to me, ' Make us gods that shall go before us; as for this Moses, the man who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him. ' And I said to them, 'Whoever has any gold, let them break it off. ' So they gave it to me, and I cast it into the fire, and this calf came out.“ – Exodus 32:22-24

  11. Excuses for Unfaithfulness The commands of God are not too difficult For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. – 1 John 5:3

  12. Excuses for Unfaithfulness The commands of God are not too difficult "For this commandment which I command you today is not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off. It is not in heaven, that you should say, 'Who will ascend into heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it? ' Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, 'Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it? '

  13. Excuses for Unfaithfulness The commands of God are not too difficult But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it. – Deuteronomy 30:11-14

  14. Excuses for Unfaithfulness Now it happened as they journeyed on the road, that someone said to Him, " Lord, I will follow You wherever You go." And Jesus said to him, " Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head." Then He said to another, " Follow Me. "But he said, " Lord, let me first go and bury my father."

  15. Excuses for Unfaithfulness Jesus said to him, " Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God." And another also said, " Lord, I will follow You, but let me first go and bid them farewell who are at my house." But Jesus said to him, " No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.“ – Luke 9:57-62

  16. Excuses for Unfaithfulness But they all with one accord began to make excuses. The first said to him, 'I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it. I ask you to have me excused. ' And another said, 'I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I ask you to have me excused. ' Still another said, 'I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. ‘ – Luke 14:18-20

  17. Do you have any excuses? • I need my sleep • I’m too busy to attend services. • I’m already a Christian. • I’ve been doing this for years why should I change now?

  18. Excuses & Consequences • Excuses keep people away from God. • Excuses can keep us from being the servants we ought to be for God. • Are you ready to stop making excuses?
