  3. SCIC Challenge Target: university and college studentsin any discipline from around the world: • Stage 1 Sign Up! Join the Sustainable Campus International Competition 2013 – a unique competition recognizing and supporting business-case sustainability innovations in Universities and Colleges around the globe.

  4. SCIC Challenge • Stage 2 Team-up. Find committed classmates or be matched. Seek diversity of disciplines and expertise to build your team. • Stage 3 Co-create. Start developing your business case and explain how your idea will enhance sustainability and produce environmental, social and economic returns for your campus.

  5. SCIC Challenge • Stage 4 Submityour completed business case and video by April 26, 2013. • Stage 5 Winners of the SCIC will receive coaching and guidance for the implementation of their project and seed funding of $3,000 for 1st prize and $1,000 for each of the two runners-up, will be announced June 12, 2013 at 1st PRME Canadian Regional Meeting.

  6. Rules • The business case will: • Use template provided by SCIC • Not exceed word count in each section • Be in English or French language • Be submitted in PDF format

  7. Rules • The video should: • Be maximum 2 minutes • Be posted and publicly available on a YouTube account with link sent as entry

  8. Criteria • 20% – is well researched, thought-out, and developed; • 20% – is able to be implemented – support from relevant delivery departments in the institution and partners; • 10% – generates Environmental Return on Investment – positive environmental impact;

  9. Criteria (con’t) • 10% – generates Social Return on Investment – positive social impact; • 10% – generates Financial Return on Investment – positive financial impact; • 10% – team members are engaged in the delivery; • 20% – video delivers clear and compelling message (“Good sales pitch”).

  10. Student commitment From February 15 to April 10 2013: • Team Leader estimated 7 hours per week • Team Members estimated 5 hours per week

  12. MacEwan Challenge • Stage 1: Information session • Stage 2: Sign-up - to be part of the process • Stage 3: Team Registration – submit proposed idea & team • Stage 4: March 8 - submit two page proposal • Stage 5: March 12-15 Proposal expo and voting at Common Ground Foyer Bld 6

MacEwan Challenge • Stage 6: March 15 three MacEwan University finalist teams will be announced. • Stage 7: Incubation stage - feedback and development • Stage 8: April 26, 2013 submission to international stage • Stage 9: June 12, 2013 MacEwan and International winners announced at 1st PRME Canadian Regional Meeting.
