  1. The challenge of building a new IA for laboratories mainly devoted to Nuclear Structure, Reactions and decays for Astrophysics and applications A common and coordinated great effort ! Angela Bracco Catania, 6 October 2018

  2. ENSAR_NEXT work under construction ENSAR2 ends on 28.02.2020 • Some important dates: • The submission of the new proposal ENSAR_NEXT ( name to be decided) by March 20 2019 • The time available is not so much !!! Intense work in the next 5 months!!

  3. Main Goals and innovative aspects • The research services to users have improved in the • past years through the implementation of networking of • facilities. • Further integration of key research infrastructures is • today needed to take full advantage of new possibilities • offered by our infrastructures, some of them new • or undergoing major upgrades or expansions. • The ongoing developments for current and future research • are complex and requires expertise and tools that are • distributed in the different facilities. • The integration of facilities of different size and • specializations has also positive consequences for science • and training at regional levels. Attract users and improve science and technology! The IA should also target new users and stimulate new scientific activities to take full advantages of the new possibilities offered by the relavant ESFI infrastructures The Mou’s with users outside Europe is one tool for these objectives ---continue and extend but not only

  4. From this meeting • The SSC sees the proposals and in the discussions give some preliminary • guidance on how to proceed . • The necessity of merging a number of proposal-ideas to make a coherent proposal is very clear (from the received proposals) • (this was clear also in ENSAR and ENSAR2) • The proponent groups see themselves how to join forces • The proponents get information to prepare the writing • Please remember that the budget is very small and that the project has to be European (avoid concentration of PI from one particular country) • The NA and JRA should be beneficial to many users and focus on the research performed at our TNA • Some ideas could be scientifically sound but not fitting well in this project • Some ideas could be sound but of interest for a very small group if not combined with other proposals

Next steps 28 October 2018 : deadline for submission of drafts for TNA’s, NA’s, JRA’s 13 November 2018 : Meeting of SSC and feedbacks to TNA’s, NA’s,JRA’s 15 December : advanced draft of TNA’s,NA’s, JRA’s to be sent to SSC (each SSC member will have few proposals to follow in detail and will interact in the following days with the proponents) 10 January 2018 (or a date around this time, I prepare a doodle) : meeting of SSC and feedback to the proponents 30 January : Final draft from TNA’s, NA’s, JRA’s to be submitted to SSC 15 February : a very advanced draft of the total project to be discussed within the SSC (doodle meetings or if needed another one day meeting) First days of March : start the submission of the text and tables in the web page
