  2. What is Slippery Slope? • Argument suggest dire consequences from relative minor causes. • "Rhetorical Fallacies." Cracking the AP English Language and Composition Exam. Ed. Laura Braswell. 2013 ed. New York: Random House, 2013. N. pag. Print. • When a person asserts that some event must inevitable follow from another without any argument from the inevitability of the event in the question. • "Fallacy: Slippery Slope." Fallacy: Slippery Slope. N.p., n.d. Web. 20 Feb. 2013. This shows that the simple affect of this child learning how to walk, will then escalate to parents then expecting their children to pick up after themselves. • Bros., Thomas. "'Dude, Don't Do It. Somewhere down the Road It Will Lead to Chores.'" Cartoon. Cartoon Stock. N.p., n.d. Web. 20 Feb. 2013.

  3. Direct TV Commercial • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7udQSHWpL88 • Don't Wake Up in a Roadside Ditch. Direct TV. Youtube, 3 Jan. 2012. Web. 21 Feb. 2013. Example: • Shows that the simple thing of being kept on hold can cause you to do others things. • This shows that one thing can cause another insistent to happen.

  4. AT&T Commercial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiCq1ZMOa-w 2010 AT&T Mobile Commercial Train. 2010 AT&T Mobile Commercial Train. Youtube, 11 Apr. 2010. Web. 21 Feb. 2013 Example: • Shows that this person choosing to ride that specific train in that specific seat could all lead to the affect of the next president of the United States being born.

  5. The Crucible – Slippery Slope Example “Thomas, Thomas, I pray you, leap not to witchcraft. I know that you – you least of all, Thomas, would ever wish to disastrous a charge laid upon me. We cannot leap to witchcraft. They will howl me out of Salem for such corruption in my house.” Parris Act I – Pg. 172 • Parris takes something that is minuet which would be Parris discussing about witchcraft, then they jump to a wild assumption that it would lead to him being thrown out of Salem.

  6. The Crucible – Slippery Slope Example “My proof is there! If Jacobs hangs for witch he forfeits up his property-that’s law! And there is none but Putnam with the coin to buy so great a piece. This man is killing his neighbors for their land!” Giles Act III – Pg. 214 • Jacobs being blamed for being witch shows that they care nothing about his life, but of his land. Causing this simple accession to lead to someone else getting his land.

  7. The Crucible – Slippery Slope Example “Courage man, Courage-let her witness your good example that she may come to God herself.” Danforth Act IV – Pg. 237 • Danforth is saying how something is as simple as Proctor confessing would lead to something as huge as Rebecca Nurse coming to God.
