  1. Minecraft will Encourage Nvidia's real- time ray tracing RTX Images. Nvidia announced that Microsoft's Minecraft is going to be the latest match to encourage Nvidia's real-time beam tracing images on the PC. The game is among a few that Nvidia will show running on Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics cards at the Gamescom game event in Cologne, Germany this week. Other games which will include RTX service at Gamescom comprise Dying Light 2, Synced: Off-Planet, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Cyberpunk 2077, Vampire: The Masquerade -- Bloodlines two, Metro: Exodus -- The 2 Colonels, Control, and See Dogs: Legion. Minecraft has sold more than 176 million copies thus far, and now it will look radically more realistic through RTX. A free game update provides Minecraft players with visualizations of the self-created worlds, with much more realistic shadows, light, and vibrant colors. "We're incredibly pleased with how fast and how wide the adoption of the technology has been around the ecosystem," explained Jason Paul, general manager for software and technologies at Nvidia, at a media briefing. "The biggest video game of the past decade is supporting RTX." Nvidia and Mojang are adding a kind of beam tracing called route tracing for the Windows 10 version of this game. Path tracing simulates the way light is transported through a scene. It presents a

  2. unified design for light calculations for several different kinds of effects that have traditionally been executed separately using rasterized or hybrid renderers. "Ray tracing sits in the center of what we believe is next for Minecraft," explained Saxs Persson, franchise creative director of Minecraft at Microsoft, in a statement. "GeForce RTX gives the Minecraft world a fresh sense for this. In ordinary Minecraft, a block of gold appears yellow, but with ray tracing turned on, you get to see the specular highlight, you get to find the reflection, you may even see a mob reflected inside." The brand new effects include: Direct lighting from Sunlight, skies and various light sources, such as emissive surfaces like glowstone and lava Realistic soft and hard shadows determined by the size, shape, and distance of the light source Indirect specular lighting (reflections) Transparent materials with reflection, refraction, and scattering (stained glass, water, ice) Atmospheric scattering and density (volumetric fog, light bottoms, realistic sky) One of the exciting new games is Synced: Off-Planet, which is being built by Tencent's flagship games development studio. The sport is a brand-new franchise that can use ray-traced reflections and shadows in a brand new twist on PvPvE which has players fighting with each other while surviving 1,000+"Nano Zombies." "Minecraft is your Legos of the generation, enabling people to create and construct in a universe inside of inside a video game," Paul explained. "And the community has done amazing things with it. The impact of this game in the area is enormous. We're excited to be working with Microsoft to take this to the next level."
