Why Do We Pray? • In a world filled with chaos, we pray because prayer is the antidote to anxiety. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. • And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. • We pray because prayer alleviates our weariness. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). 

  3. Here are our Traits of Someone Who Has Great Faith in God

Courage • Is not acting without fear, it’s acting despite of fear.  • Someone who has great faith is in God is like a child who is with his father in a storm. • The child is not afraid because he know he’s father is there and will not leave him no matter what. For that child nothing is impossible with God.

  5. Firm Belief • A person who has great faith is someone who has firm belief in his faith. • That despite the trials and challenges he faces he’s faith is still strong. • Science has also learned that the faith one places in God does provide a direct benefit to one’s health and well-being. The most profound effect of believing in God is a reduction in stress.

  6. Listens to the Good News • He listens to the word of God and does not contradict it. • He applies what he has learned for good use. • We can benefit greatly in our personal lives and relationships from exposing ourselves to positive information.

  7. He is Careful with His Mouth • A person who has great faith is careful with the words that he uses. • He is careful with the words that he speaks because he believes in his heart but he also proclaim through his mouth.

  8. Persistence • He continues to work and pray. • Like a suitor who is wooing the woman of his dreams a person with great faith never gives up despite the insults and trials he indures. • Persistence demands patience, waiting. This is the ground of spiritual growth, spiritual vitality, and health. Persistence deepens our relationship with God and compels the heart to examine what it really wants most.

  9. Humble • We have nothing to be boastful for except for the Word of God. We are nothing without Him. • Having or showing a modest or low estimate of one's own importance. • Instead of erecting self-defenses against death, humble people tend to find it provides a useful perspective on life and how it should be lived.

  10. Never Loses Hope • A person with great faith never loses hope amidst the adversity. • He continues to fight and work for his goals and dreams in life. • If you feel like you are in the gutters all you have to do is look up at the night sky and realize you are under the very same starry skies everyone else is under.
