  1. Comunicación y Gerencia Biblical and Mythological Allusions Making Sense of Allusions in Literature A Self-Driven Project

  2. YourAssignment You will choose either a mythological or a biblical allusion that you find to be interesting. You will research the original story, learning its background and, if applicable, how the story changes with different cultures. You will then find at least two works of art (literature, art, music, film, advertisements, etc.) that use the allusion and analyze them for how the allusion was used. You will present your findings to the class in the form of a visual presentation and to Mrs. Smith in the form of a paper.

  3. QuestionsTo Ask Yourself • Ask yourself the following questions as you analyze your allusions: • How does the example portray the characters of the story? • How true to the story does the example stay? • Why does the example suit the purpose of the speaker (or whoever wrote it)?

  4. TheParticulars • You will somehow present the information you find to your classmates. You can do this through a power point presentation or another type of visual. • You will also turn in a two-page paper to Mrs. Smith, completed in MLA format, which we will discuss later.

  5. When It’s Due • Your projects are due on April 20th, which is next Friday. • Your presentations should be no longer than 5 minutes, and you should be prepared to present on Friday, no exceptions will be admitted. • Your paper must be typed in Times New Roman 12 pt. font, no more than double-spaced. • You must have at least three sources cited in your paper. Wikipedia is not a source! If you have any questions about a source’s validity, please run it by Mrs. Smith before you include it in your paper. • We will discuss MLA format later in the week.
