  1. A Brief Guide to Buying Golf Clubs for Beginners If you’re just getting started with golf, your first step is buying the right golf clubs. There are myriad models and types available, so before you start shopping for Srixon golf clubs, here is a brief guide to help you determine the best clubs for you. The Types of Golf Clubs You’ll Need Most clubhouse and competition rules allow you to carry as many as 14 clubs. A typical set would include: ● 1 driver ● 2 Fairway Woods ● 7 Irons ● 1 Hybrid ● 1 Putter ● 2 Wedges. However, beginners don’t really need all fourteen of these clubs. A beginner can usually start with a driver, putter and iron set. You can buy these separately, or you can buy a complete beginner’s set that will allow you to have almost everything you could need to hit your local course. Shaft Options The makeup of your golf club shaft and shaft flex are two important factors when choosing new golf clubs. You tend to have the option of steel or graphite, but the amount of flex or bend when you swing can vary. When choosing fairway woods or drivers, you should look at graphite shafts, while irons could be steel or graphite. Graphite is lighter and will allow you to maximise your swing speed, but they are typically more expensive. Steel is heavier, but it is less expensive and more durable. Your Budget If you’re not convinced that golf will be your game, or you only have the time to play a couple of times a month, it is a good idea to spend less initially. However, if you plan on playing a few times a week and have a keen interest, it is worth spending more on your initial investment. However, if you want to build up to collecting a solid set, you can begin with a good starter set. As with any investment, you need to consider your budget

  2. and how much you are prepared to spend. If you have a modest budget, you’re unlikely to want to buy a full set of Nike golf clubs, but rather concentrate on key pieces and you can build from there. New or Used? You’ll also need to consider whether you want to opt for new or used golf clubs. While pre owned equipment can be a cost effective option, it can also be a source of problems. If you buy used golf clubs, you may find that they have suffered damage that will affect your game. If you do decide to buy used clubs, try to shop at a reputable location that will allow you to fully inspect the clubs and maybe even practice a few test swings before you buy. Of course, buying brand new does provide some reassurances if you have any issues with the clubs during the warranty period. If you are considering starting golf as your new hobby and need help choosing golf clubs, you should speak to us. We offer a wide selection of equipment including new and used clubs. You’ll also find the Golfbox team happy to answer any of your queries or questions.
