Preferred Connector Identified • Samtec LSHM series • Right angle SMD • Allows thick film design on only one side of BeO • No vias through BeOfor cost saving • Hermaphroditic connector • Fits within minimum envelope determined by fiber connectors • D-Board – use 80 pin version • B-Board – use 100 pin version

  3. Minimum D-Board Envelope with LSHM Connector 30 mm 9 mm 29 mm

  4. Opto-board Connected to Motherboard with LSHMs

  5. Elbow Room • 29mm makes design tight between DORIC / VDC and board edge • Need to know maximum width allowed for both B and D boards to make this a little easier 29 mm

  6. Schedule / Plan • Starting on layout now • Sample connectors on order for final selection • Any objections to connector choice? • Layout should be completed by Dec. 16
