  3. Glossary of useful terms WEB ADDRESS (DOMAIN): a unique address for a web site BROWSER: software to access the web FILE TRANSFER PROTOCOL (FTP): a method for downloading and uploading files on the internet

  4. Glossary of useful terms INTERNET PROTOCOL ADDRESS (IP ADDRESS): a unique identification number for every computer on the internet E-MAIL: electronic mail transferred from one computer user to another HOME PAGE: the first page available to the computer user when the browser is opened

Glossary of useful terms HYPERTEXT TRANSFER PROTOCOL (http): establishes the rules by which web pages are transferred LINK, or HYPERTEXT LINK: an underlined word or phrase that directly links to a page on the web UNIFORM RESOURCE LOCATOR (URL): an addressing schematic used to located web pages
