  7. Why set up a new UNICEF group? No experience is necessary to set up a local UNICEF group. All we ask is that you are enthusiastic and passionate about UNICEF’s work and can volunteer some of your time. Your effort can result in big improvements to children’s lives.   8. Why set up a new UNICEF group? When setting up a new group you will be joining a national network of UNICEF groups and will be supported by a dedicated Fundraising Initiatives Officer. UNICEF WEBSITE DECLAN ALVARO

OUTCOMES • increased their awareness of their own strengths and areas for growth • undertaken new challenges • worked collaboratively with others • shown perseverance and commitment in their activities • engaged with issues of global importance • considered the ethical implications of their actions • developed new skills DECLAN ALVARO

  10. THE DOWN SIDE • ALL THE IMPETUS IS SEEN ONLY AT THE BEGINNING • REFLECTIONS CAN BE WEAK IF STUDENTS ARE NOT AT THE SCENE • COULD ONLY BE RELEGATED TO THE COLLECTION OF FUNDS • ALL SYMPATHY LITTLE EMPATHY DECLAN ALVARO

OUR EXPERIENCE AT DIA • With absolutely no help from me there is a student of my school who has set up a UNICEF book on facebook and has got some 111 students who have become group members from school itself. • They have just had their first meeting and I am yet to hear about the outcome. • Click on the picture to visit DECLAN ALVARO
