  2. 600 B.C. • Ancient Greeks discover Static Electricity. Timeline

  3. 1675 • Robert Boyle stated that electric attraction and repulsion can move across a vacuum. Timeline

  4. 1711 • After eons of superstitious imaginations about electricity, Ben Franklin figured out that static electricity and lightning were the same. His correct understanding of the nature of electricity paved the way for the future. Timeline

  5. 1752 • Benjamin Franklin conducted his dangerous experiment of flying a kite during a thunderstorm. Timeline

  6. 1800 • Alessandro Volta created the first electric battery. Timeline

  7. 1821 • Michael Faraday invented the first electric motor. Timeline
