  4. What is the significance to the 10,000 hour rule? Researchers have found that it seems to take about 10,000 to achieve true mastery.

  6. Who is Anders Ericsson? What did he conclude about talent vs. practice when studying musicians? Anders Ericsson is a Swedish psychologist. Anders Ericsson created a study pertaining to how important practice is versus talent. Interestingly enough, Ericsson concluded that practice is actually much more important than talent and that talent is just a small part of being good at something. Ericsson found his study indicated the 10,000-hour rule is correct. The 10,000-hour rule is that in order for somebody to be an “expert” in a particular subject, they must have at least 10,000 hours of practice in it.

  7. What is the significance of “Practice isn’t the thing you do once you’re good. It’s the thing you do that makes you good”? Practice leads to success. The over 10,000 hours The Beatles, Joy, and Gates had on their skill was all practice that lead to them being successful

  8. Is it possible to put in 10,000 hours without any support from other people No, everyone needs a teacher or mentor that shows them how to start, Stars also need other people to cover responsibilities for them so the stars can have that free time to practice.

  9. Which band does Gladwell discuss in this chapter? Why is Hamburg, Germany part of their 10,000 hours? The Beatles, They sets they played were 8 hours long, and they played seven days a week. By the time the Beatles began having major success in 1964, they had played live performances approximately twelve hundred times (more than most bands today ever play live in their lifetimes).
