The story of the new version has been adapted from one of its prequels, though the story came as a spin-off. This story revolves around two Horsemen named War and Strife from Apocalypse who intend to fight with the king of Hell, Lucifer, and his goal of ruling the whole world. The game offers several features, such as inviting a friend to a built team of these two horse brothers or changing characters. Both the Horse brothers have unique and distinct abilities that help players tackle these demons and bosses of Hell.
