Since 2007, the conference has been hosted in Las Vegas; however, due to onerous COVID-19 restrictions in Las Vegas, the conference has since relocated to Rapid City. Exactly why did Freedom Fest go to Rapid City? Because Nevada banned big gatherings and allowed people to wear masks during the epidemic last year, the conference had to be cancelled. The conference's organizers searched for a location where attendees could experience social distance without being required to wear masks.
