  4. Daniël Goedkoop Jr. Vader Daniël Goedkoop Sr. kocht in 1867 voor zijn 17 jarige zoon de werf ‘t Kromhout. Hiermee was de wens van Daniël Jr. in vervulling gegaan om scheepsbouwer te worden. Hij renoveerde de sterk verwaarloosde werf, kocht de dakspanten van een wereldtentoonstellingsgebouw en overdekte hiermee de werf. Hiermee was het één van de eerste overdekte scheepswerven van Nederland. Hij bouwde een stoomhelling en bracht elektrische verlichting aan.

  8. IN 1899 KWAM BROER JAN GOEDKOOP IN HET BEDRIJF. JAN HAD EEN TECHNISCHE OPLEIDING EN BESLOOT STOOMMACHINES TE GAAN BOUWEN VOOR IN DE SCHEPEN DIE ZIJN BROER DANIËL BOUWDE. HIERMEDE KWAM ER EEN BELANGRIJKE WENDING IN HET BEDRIJF WAT UITEINDELIJK ZAL UITGROEIEN TOT ÉÉN VAN DE GROOTSTE MOTOREN FABRIEKEN VAN NEDERLAND.
