Practices, how they have been affected: • EMSystems is now dialysis terminology and all teams have begun to become familiar with usage of new system. • RAC, what is a RAC? Another new term in dialysis. Used during emergency planning…. • Guidance with ONE team of all providers and agencies involved. Together giving oversight and planning for the future. • Planning, Practice, Plan more and Practice even more – PREPARED….
Regional Advisory Councils (RAC) • 22 Statewide councils administer EMS system • Renal representative appointed to all Coastal RAC’s • Working to establish rep to all 22 RAC’s • Provided each RAC • Dialysis facilities list in their region with contact information • Triage Form • Save A Life Document
Save a Life Document** Stresses • Allowing dialysis prior to mandatory evacuations • Assigning Dialysis Facilities for priority for water and electricity • Allowing patients and staff to cross checkpoints & curfews • Advertises Command Center number: 866-409-ESRD (3773) • Provide any needed information to: • County judges • Association of Mayors • RAC’s ** Adapted for Texas from Federal Document

EMSystem • How we got it • RAC’s voted to include dialysis after TEEC presentation • State Agency purchased for dialysis • All facilities in Texas • Can provide critical updates and information during an emergency • All facilities (>400) are logged on • Are asked to update their facility information on a monthly basis. • The Network and other administrators can: • Send Alerts • Create Events • Post information for all to view (i.e. Forms from the state, waivers) • Acute Dialysis has been added to hospital view
