fees • Student Activity Fee ($35 per semester—Juniors & Seniors ONLY) • Technology Fee ($30 per semester—Juniors & Seniors ONLY) • Course-specific Lab Fees ($15-$100 depending on course) • Parking Fee: $0 (waived for this year ONLY) • Credit Fee: $18 (charged to any student taking over 12 college credits in one semester) • Senior Fee: $55 (ECF) • Field Trips: Vary with trip • Yearbooks: $50 (may vary slightly) • PSAT Testing Fee: $17 (Juniors) • Driver’s Education Fee: $45 (if applicable)
CalendarandHours • Hybrid of two calendars: WSFCS and FTCC • First day of school for high school classes is Thursday, August 8. • First day of school for college classes is Friday, August 16. • Final day for students (tentative) is Friday, May 15. • ECF follows FTCC calendar for holidays/breaks. • ECF will have school on some days that WSFCS is not in session and vice-versa. • Refer to chart in Student Handbook (distributed on 1st day of school). • School hours: • 9:00-3:15 (Monday-Thursday) • 9:00-3:00 (Friday) FTCC campus closes at 3:00 on Fridays. • Building opens by 7:30 AM each day. • Students should be off campus by 5:00 PM each day. (3:15 on Fridays)
textbooks • Do NOT pay for your college textbooks. • If you go to the bookstore and purchase them, you will not be reimbursed for them. • Textbooks will be provided by ECF as soon as the bookstore makes them available to us. • Textbooks will be checked out to you by ECF. • You must return them at end of the semester. • If you drop a class, you will be required to pay a fee for “using the code” on the textbook.
Transportation • Magnet Bus Transportation • WSFCS will pick up and drop off at a designated schools in the district. • Only operates when WSFCS is in session. • Begins on August 26. • Drops off around 9:00 AM and picks up at 3:20 PM here at ECF. • Car Riders • Students can be dropped off in morning as close to Ardmore Hall as possible. • Afternoon pick-up is much more coordinated. • Must be picked up in gravel parking lot below Snyder Hall. • FTCC Campus Police will handle non-compliant drivers. All students will be car riders until august 26

Lunch • All students will have lunch 11:45 AM-12:20 PM. • Students may eat in The Grill, outside in approved locations, or in Snyder Hall. • Students may bring lunch or purchase food in the Grill or from vending machines, or pre-order from Parkland High School. • Grill is closed until August 16. • Parkland High School program will begin August 26. • Students must bring lunch from home through August 15. (No other options, unless Junior or Senior—can go off campus for lunch.) • Meal cards can be purchased for $55 plus tax = $58.71 in the Grill • 10 meals at $5.50 per meal. • Limited number of microwave ovens available in the Grill and Snyder Hall. • There will be days where students will need to bring lunch from home due to The Grill being closed. • Additional info on Meal Cards and the Parkland lunch program will be sent home with students.
StudentActivities/clubs • Drama Club • Yearbook Club • Honor Society • Student Council • Art Club • Ethics Club • Crosby Scholars • Multicultural Club • Youth in Government • Science Olympiad • Retro Club • GSA Club • Additional clubs may be created throughout the year. • There are also numerous FTCC activities open to ECF students. • ECF students can participate in FTCC activities just like regular FTCC students. • We offer Driver’s Education classes after school in the fall and spring.
Communicationwithparents • High School Communication (ECF): • Students and parents are expected to monitor grades via PowerSchool. • Paper copies of progress reports will be sent home to parents mid-quarter ONLY if a student has a D/F average at that time. • Report cards will be sent home quarterly. • Twitter @TreeNationECF • Connect 5 calling/email system • Please let the school know if you do not start receiving messages over the next couple of weeks. • ECF website • Teacher websites • College Communication (FTCC): • Students see grades/status on their Blackboard sites and Tech Link. • College professors will only communicate with students, not parents.

Modifiedschedule(august 8-16) Sophomores • August 8 • Regular school day (9:00-3:15) • We will direct you where to go when you come on hall on Thursday morning. • August 9 • Regular school day (9:00-3:00) *Friday (dismiss at 3:00) • August 12-16 • Regular school day (9:00-3:15, 3:00 on Friday) • Students will have Study Hall from 1:45-3:15. • No penalty for students leaving at 1:45. • Regular schedule (9:00-3:15 Monday-Thursday) and (9:00-3:00 Friday) will resume on Monday, August 19.
