  1. Welcome to Ms. Allen’s Kindergarten Class Open House October 1, 2013

  2. Ms. Anne Allen • 19th year to teach public school • 16th year at Schultz • Logan 11 years • Quinn 8 years • Klein Forest Grad • Texas Tech Grad • Born in Gary, Indiana • Camping on the Frio, Walt-Disney World, reading, gardening, cub scouts and 4-wheeling out in the country!

  3. Don’t be tardy! • The tardy bell rings at 8:20am. • Tardy Information Each campus in Klein ISD is to have a tardy policy in place. The following policy went into effect, October 17, 2005.Students who are tardy four (4) times during a nine-week grading cycle will receive a gentle reminder. A student who has accrued five (5) tardies in a nine-week grading cycle will have his/her general conduct grade lowered by one letter designation for that grading cycle. For every additional five (5) tardies, the student’s conduct grade will continue to be lowered.

Lunch10:45-11:15am daily Wednesday is Kindergartens Parent Lunch Scheduled Time. • Library Thursday 2:00-2:30pm • Computer Lab 1:15-2:00pm Monday • Music and PEMonday – MUSIC with Ms. Mena 12:30-1:15Tuesday – MUSIC with Ms. Mena 12:30-1:15Wednesday - PE with Mrs. Christian 12:30-1:15Thursday - PE with Mrs. Christian 12:30-1:15Friday - PE with Mrs. Christian 12:45-2:00Please remember to wear appropriate shoes on PE days. Thank You.

  5. No holes in clothing, especially the knees in jeans • No spaghetti straps • Shorts under dresses • No short shorts • As the kids grow up their clothes get too short and may not be appropriate for school.

  6. Help your child learn how to tie their shoes.

  11. 1st quarter Composition • Writing a complete sentence that makes sense. • Begin a sentence with a capital letter. • End with correct punctuation. • Spaces between words.

  12. Handwriting • Practice, Practice, Practice! • Capitals vs. Lower Case Letters • Margins • Baselines • Spacing “Make it neat, Make it nice, Check it once, Check it twice.”

  16. Homework Procedures • Our class has a progressive homework assignment. Folders are sent home at the beginning of the week with all needed homework pages and instruction, including spelling words. Homework is not to be returned until the end of the week (Friday). This allows for the students to manage their own time for homework and extra curricular activities. All homework is to be turned in completed. Grades are given for complete and incomplete homework.
