In simplified language, • I can forward telephone calls • I can spell names / codes / addresses etc. • I can pass on information about time and numbers • I can manage simple telephoning actions such as identifying self • I can specifying the person I want to talk to • I can exchanging basic information and close a call

  3. Read the dialogue and make it polite (friendlier) Receptionist Caller 1. ABC Ltd. What do you want? 2. I want to speak to Ms Williams 3. Not there. Message 4. I‘m Ann Jones. Please call me 5. Didn‘t understand. Please spell 6. A-N-N new word J-O-N-E-S 7. Ok I give message 8. Thanks. Goodbye 9. Goodbye

  7. Listen to the dialogue and answer the questions Who is calling? Who does she/he want to speak to? Does he/she get through? If not, why not? What will happen next?

  10. Language Note 1. To talk about your interests use like + ing. I like playing tennis. He like watching fooball on TV. 2. To talk about what you want to do & make invitations use would like to + verb I‘d like to (I would like) to go to the cinema. Would your colleague like to come with us to lunch?
