  1. Beta Club AgendaMay 1, 2012 • Find a seat, and we’ll get started ASAP. • blogs.harrisonhigh.org/beta_club

  2. Sign Offs at End of Meeting • ALPHABETICAL SIGN-OFF • Please TURN IN your slips from: • Shane’s (1/2 credit per meal, not including your own-write the number of meals for credit on the receipt) • Volunteer work when you were given an official slip of paper Note: Your tracker should MATCH the excel sheet with total hours.

  3. Relay for Life Service • It is A WEEK FROM FRIDAY! • We are NOT spending the entire night at the event, so you will only be able to earn about 6 hours maximum that day. (5 PM – 11 PM) • You MUST turn in a PERMISSION FORM to attend the event and receive hours. Pick one up after the meeting, and return it to Mr. or Mrs. Tarvin by WEDNESDAY, MAY 9. • IF YOU HAVE MINIMUM DAY, WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE ASSISTANCE WITH SETTING UP OUR TENTS AT 3:30 PM AT JIM MILLER PARK. SEE MR. TARVIN AFTER THE MEETING. YOU NEED TEN HOURS MINIMUM FOR RELAY FOR LIFE!

  4. Relay for Life Service • Sell Luminaria(Beautiful white bags with candles to honor cancer victims at the Relay) • Print the form off of the blog – or pick one up in front of Room 319 • Bring completed form and $10 check or cash to Mrs. Spaeth (319) • 1 Luminaria = 1 Relay for Life hour (Maximum 6 hours) • Relay for Life Online Fundraising • Follow link on the blog to register online • Email friends and family members inviting them to make a donation on your behalf • $10 donation = 1 Relay for Life hour YOU NEED TEN HOURS MINIMUM FOR RELAY FOR LIFE!

  5. RFL T-Shirts • IF you have paid dues this year, you are eligible for a T-shirt. You can get your T-shirt at today’s meeting. Please SIGN for your shirt. • IF you have not paid your dues for this year ($10), you can pay your dues to receive your shirt. • Wear your shirt to RFL on May 11th!

  6. Money • The school bookkeeper is not accepting checks anymore. If you are holding checks that someone wrote for luminarias, you need to turn it in today or tomorrow. • After Thursday, no checks will be accepted – CASH ONLY for luminarias and late dues.

  7. Kemp Elementary Spring Fling • Friday, May 4th – THIS FRIDAY! • Times needed: 6:00 – 9:00 PM • Sign up at this meeting or on Mrs. Spaeth’s door (319) or at today’s meeting.

  8. MUST Summer Lunch Items • You can earn ½ credit for every $5.00 spent for a maximum of two credits. • Items needed: • Peanut butter, jelly • Salty snacks such as individual portions of potato chips, pretzels, cheese crackers • Fruit snacks such as individual portions of applesauce, fruit cups • Juice boxes • Bring items to Room 319 WITH YOUR RECEIPT WITH YOUR NAME ON IT. DO NOT LEAVE ITEMS WITHOUT A RECEIPT. IDEALLY, PLEASE SPEAK WITH MRS. SPAETH WHEN YOU BRING YOUR ITEMS. DONATIONS ACCEPTED UNTIL MAY 18TH.

  9. Horizon Special Needs Baseball-May 19th • We are “buddying up” with special needs kids for their baseball game that morning • 8:45 am – 10:00 am • Limited slots available • Sign-up is on Room 319 door • Check blog for more details on park location

  10. HHS Beta Club Scholarship – Seniors Only! (DUE FRIDAY!) • Beta Club awards a scholarship to one or more deserving seniors.  Any senior in good standing with Beta Club is free to apply.  Please adhere to all the rules and fill out the application completely.  • Allow the two teachers that you select for recommendations ample time to complete their portion of the application.  • All parts of the application are due by May 4th, 2012. Application can be downloaded from the blog or picked up outside Room 319.

  11. Seniors: Graduation Stoles and Diploma Seals! • Stoles are being ordered – watch for announcements on your pickup times! • If you have completed ALL your service, you will receive a Beta Club seal on your diploma!

  12. 2012-2013 Officers • If you are interested in becoming an officer for next year, please pick up an officer application, complete and submit by May 11th. • We would like to hold an officer’s meeting after that to discuss plans for next year.
