WHY THE 5 YEAR PLAN? • Guide for future development of parks and recreation system • Identify current and future needs for Township parks and recreation • Address ADA issues/compliance • Develop long range goals and objectives • Develop action program to work towards achieving goals • Prioritize redevelopment and recreation programming • Enables Township to budget for planned improvements • Michigan Department of Natural Resources requirements for qualifying for Federal and State funding assistance • Educational tool for public and local officials
