  4. Preschoolers • Carry out steps to written recipes • Read labels • Play picture card games • Provide variety of materials • “Play” writing and reading

  5. Primary Grades • Continue to read at bedtime • Visit the library • Listen to their stories • Encourage them to write down ideas • Play word games – Scrabble/Boggle
