  4. Call Center Employee – Company X, Chicago Entry 1 Before After • The call center employee uses the “Hungry Head” postures while supporting the phone. The employee cannot type while one hand is supporting the receiver; she must first write the order on a notepad then enter it into computer, duplicating the task. EXAMPLE • The employee is provided a headset to eliminate the “Hungry Head” posture, thus reducing neck fatigue. Subsequently, this allows both hands to type the initial order directly into her computer.

  5. Distribution Center Employee – Company X, Chicago Boxes in Queue Entry 2 Before After • The distribution center employee packaged boxes on the floor, in a “Butts Up” posture. Additionally, this employee used both the “Twist and Shout” and the “Horizontal Distance” postures to retrieve the next box in queue. EXAMPLE • The employee was provided a worktable to stage and package the boxes in queue. This reduced “Butts Up”, “Twist and Shout”, and “Horizontal Distance” postures, resulting in a time savings of roughly 26 minutes per day or 183 hours per year!
