Dewey Wanna Celebrate the End of the Ski Season Located in the town of Harrietstown, just outside the Village of Saranac Lake, Dewey Mountain X-C Ski & Snowshoe Recreation Center offers 15 kilometers of trails ranging from beginner to advanced for cross-country skiing or snowshoeing; approximately 10 kilometers of the trails are groomed. Celebrate the end of a great ski and snowshoe season at Dewey on March 7 with a ski and snowshoe race, snowshoe scavenger hunt, ski obstacle course, Boxer Short Triathlon Relay, Dewey Mountain BBQ Crew, and much more! You'll travel groomed trails through the mountains to Adirondack Ponds, supplied with a state-of-the art snowmobile, helmet and safety equipment. All you have to do is come properly dressed!

Located in Chestertown, in north Warren County, Dynamite Hill Recreation Center & Nature Trail offers one trail with rope tow for beginner and novice skiers, and it’s lighted for night skiing. Don’t ski? There’s always sledding, ice skating, a half-mile, marked nature trail and a warming hut

  6. Enjoy the Great Outdoors at a State Park in Central Leatherstocking! For surefire winter fun in New York’s Central Leatherstocking region, check out the wintertime activities at two of the region’s state parks. In Laurens, Gilbert Lake State Park boasts a lake and three ponds in wooded terrain. Hike, ski, snowmobile and snowshoe on more than 12 miles of trails. In the summer camp, golf, swim, boat, fish and much more. You’ll also find the New York State Civilian Conservation Corps Museum within the park.
