  3. Reflection • What does reflection mean?

  4. Reflection • A reflective poem is a reflection of one's state of mind using perhaps symbols and comparisons to objects and life scenarios in a poetic manner. • Reflection is consideration of some subject matter, idea, or purpose

  5. Reflection • I am looking in a mirror, but all I can see is me, trying to bewhat I want to be instead of what I really am.

  6. Emotional confliction which I had once fought, • Was ever so close to subsiding, I thought. • Personal steadiness which I had once sought • Is something, I think, may never be caught. • Carefully hiding internal confusion, • I view my existence an intricate delusion. • Wanting desperately to reach the unreachable conclusion • That will alleviate my mind of this constant seclusion • Societal misconception gives way to social blunder, • That distorted reality feeds as storm clouds to thunder. • Hopeful perception can not put asunder, • This malevolent spell from which I am under. • Mental meandering and silent stress • Are among main causes of my digress. • Hindering abilities that I possess, • Where is my exit from this unsettling mess?

  7. I look in the mirror, What do I see? A broken girl gazes out at me. I’m not perfect , I will never be, The girl that people want me to be. I’m unique, Don’t call me a geek, I sing, I draw, I like to speak. I see myself inside, The girl I always hide.I need a friend, I want the pain to end.Reflections lie, The girl inside dies.Love me, I need peace. Help me, I need a friend.

  8. Man In The Mirror • Listen to this Michael Jackson song and write one paragraph in which you tell me why this song is/is not a good example of a reflection. A paragraph is 4-6 sentences.

  9. Assignment • Write a reflection that is a minimum of eight lines and a maximum of 20 lines. • This is for a grade. • If you don’t finish in class, it’s homework.
