  1. Western Cape Provincial Sport Confederation Presentation of the Status QUO in the Provence for SASCOC on Sunday, 24 February 2013 in Cape Town

Structure The WCPSC currently consist of four (4) Regions -Boland, SWD, WC, and WP • Roadshow to advocate six(6) Municipal Sectors. • First(1st) visit to West Coast on 19 .01.2013 • At completion the WCPSC will consist of SIX (6) Districts • Boland - Overberg and Cape Winelands • SWD - Central Karoo and Eden • WC - West Coast • WP - Western Province (Cape Town Metropole)

Projects and Programmes • Annually - RiaanLoods Project- Campaign Against Violence And Sport • Sport Awards - Each region has it’s own culminating into Western Cape Sport Awards • Hosted by MEC • Meetings - Different bi- monthly meeting • - Committee / commissions activities - (Coaches , TMC and Woman and Girls in Sport , Farmworkers and WECSA) • Coaches - Workshop - November 2012 • TMC - Workshop scheduled for - 16 March 2012 • Woman and Girls - Four(4) events for the year planned

Projects and Programmes - Continue • WECSA – Establishment of satellite academies (in ODN –SWD and SALDANHA – WC is ongoing • Visit to Shandong (CHINA) in June 2013 • Possible areas of cooperation . 1. Sport Academies / Academy focus sport school 2. Training and coaching 3. Talent identification 4. Facilities development

  5. Infrastructure • Make use of or hire facilities or venues • Have none - use DCAS facilities • Waiting on SASCOC for final approval and support of Provincial Sport House.

  6. Personnel • None - We are all volunteers

  7. Fundings • Main and only source - DCAS • Support four(4) Regions • Most funding spend on transport / vast distances • Problematic – Conditional Grant

  8. Membership • WCPSC Membership - Regional Structure - Sports Commission - WC Federations (in process of Formation or Establishment) • Elections of the WCPSC - Every second year • Last Elections held - September 2011 • New Elections - September 2013 - New Constitution

  9. Relationship with Broader Stakeholder • SASCOC / DCAS / Federations are good • Problems with a few – i.e WC Boxing • Western Cape Dispute and Arbitration Forum –Resolve Disputes
