Preliminaries • Respond briefly to the following prompt: “Now that you have seen a film related to the theme you chose to explore in the I-search, you have an additional perspective about that theme. Describe how the film communicated a message about the theme you chose to explore for your I-search.”

  3. Objectives: • The students will be able to summarize their chosen I-Search themes with at least 75% accuracy and interpret it in connection to their chosen project films also with at least 75% accuracy. • The students will be able to interpret the main idea of a movie review in relation to their chosen project themes and to their chosen project book with at least 75% accuracy.

  4. Focus Lesson: Interpreting… • Movie Review Conventions • Plot summary • Director’s name • Review of technical and artistic aspects • Reading Movie Reviews • The Lion King excerpt • Google.com • Substantive movie reviews • Research journal entry • Connections to theme

  5. Homework • Continue watching I-Search movies, reading books and taking QNQs. • Using the search strategies that we discussed in class, find and print out at least 3 movie reviews for your own project movies on Google.com (due in one week)
