  2. FAQ 1 • Question: Who own the design of customer carried board ? • Answer: Advantech own the design of both HW and SW of DTOS

  3. FAQ 2 • Question: Who sources the component for the samples in ES stage ? • Answer: Advantech will source most of the common components, Customer will have to consign or down payment for special parts including connectors or IC

  4. FAQ 3 • Question: Would Advantech allow 3rd party to produce the CSB (customer carried board)? • Answer: After the customer’s order exceed 1000 pcs, customer is entitle to have the design of CSB which include a) Schematic File b) Gerber File

  5. FAQ 4 • Question: What kind of drivers are included in NRE ? • Answer: Advantech will offer the drivers which come with the SOM CPU Module if required

  6. FAQ 5 • Question: What kind of certifications are included in NRE ? • Answer: Advantech will perform the test only on the basic function (not include temperature, EMI, ESD… special certification required by customer)

  7. FAQ 6 • Question: What kind of test will be done in the first 3 engineering sample ? • Answer: a) Advantech will perform only have the test for the basic function (not include temperature, EMI, ESD… special certification required by customer) b) Customer need to provide test process for proprietary function or take the responsibility for testing c) Please refer to Appendix B of Engineer Interface Doc

  8. FAQ 7 • Question: Does Advantech accept the installment of NRE charge ? • Answer: Advantech does not accept installment of NRE charge & this NRE charge is not Refundable.

  9. FAQ 8 • Question: What is the lead time for Mass production? • Answer: For 6 weeks lead time not require forecast For 4 weeks lead time require 3 months rolling forecastprovided by customer

  10. FAQ 9 • Question: What is the min Qty for pilot run and mass production ? • Answer: Min Qty 50pcs for Pilot Run Min Qty 200pcs for Mass Production

  11. FAQ 10 • Question: Can I ask the engineering change within or after DTOS 30days? • Answer: Any engineering change during this period is not permitted

  12. FAQ 11 • Question: Should I pay for the engineering change ? • Answer: a) Any Engineering Change should proceed by ECR process and only one ECR process allowed If found to be Advantech’s responsibility, Free of Charge. Otherwise, subject to charge by the complexity of the change. b) Any serious Engineering Change should be considered as another New DTOS project.

FAQ 12 • Question: What will cost the modification for 2nd sample ? • Answer: a) Any Engineering Change should proceed by ECR process and only one ECR process allowed If found to be Advantech’s responsibility, Free of Charge. Otherwise, subject to charge by the complexity of the change. b) Any serious Engineering Change should be considered as another New DTOS project.

  16. FAQ 14 • Question: What kind of the information need to be confirmed before DTOS start? • Answer: (a) Mechanical drawing and board layout (b) Schematic (required) (c) OS and driver requirement (d) Test environment

  17. FAQ 15 • Question:What kind of the information need to be include in Sales Leads? • Answer: (1) Customer Background (2) Project Background (3) Product Spec. Please refer to detail of the DTOS Application Form

FAQ 16 • Question: What kind of the information which need to confirmed before DTOS 30 Days start? • Answer: (1) Customer Solution Board Specification (a) Desired function on SOM (b) Special function on customer solution board (c) Replacement Parts/Connectors (d) Customer Proprietary Circuit (2) Customer Solution Board Block Diagram (3) Customer Solution Board Placement

  19. FAQ 17 • Question: What does customer get after DTOS 30 Days? • Answer: (1) Customer should receive 3 Engineer Samples of DTOS products (2) Advantech will offer the drivers which come with the SOM CPU Module if required
