MISSIONS NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FISHERIES RESEARCH (INRH) is a public organisation endowed of the moral personality and financial autonomy and is a national organism whose activities are turned exclusively toward the management of fisheries resources and the marine environment . It was created on July29, 1996. Fisheries Resources assessment and Follow-up of their exploitation  Marine and Coastal Ecosytem study Monitoring of the quality of the marine environment and its healthiness  Assesm ent of aquaculture environment potentialities along the national coastal areas and carring out investigation, in order to contribute to the development of the moroccan aquaculture.  Test of Fishing techniques and sea food enhancement National Institute of Fisheries Research

OBJECTIVES INRH is in charge of undertaking all activities related to research, studies, experimental actions and sea/land work in order to assess, manage, preserve and enhance fisheries and aquacole resources.  Sustainable and responsible management of the resources.  Preservation of living marine resources  Preservation of the marine environment and consumer health protection against seafood consumption  Scientific review for the general public and development of aquaculture. STRUCTURE To lead its missions, INRH has an appropriate structure which is as following(at the headquarter level ):  3 scientific Departments: - Fisheries Department - Oceanography and Aquaculture Department - Marine Environment Quality and Healthiness Department  Administrative and Financial Department  Documentation Centre, specialized in Fisheries Science to serve scientists and professional community. Fishing Economy Division Computer Science and GIS Division National Institute of Fisheries Research

STRUCTURE Healthiness Monitoring Network of the Coastal Area (RSSL) This network is based on 8 stations:  Mediterranean: Nador, M ’diq, Tanger  Atlantic: Casablanca, Oualidia, Agadir, Laayoune Mission: to assess continuously the level of biological (microorganisms, toxins) and chemical contamination of the environment to serve as an alarm system in case of phenomenon disturbing the ecosystem(red tides, toxic phytoplankton…) to support Professional and administration to classify seashell ’s areas and their level of healthiness     National Institute of Fisheries Research
