Gus Romo - A Well-Rounded Department Head

Gus Romo received the Presidentu2019s Scholar Award from Cal Poly Pomona University in 1992 and graduated in the top 10% of his class with a Bachelor of Science degree. While raising a family and building a career, he obtained a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Redlands in 1999. In 2001, he founded his company, Romo Planning Group to assist public agencies with civic staffing needs.

  2. Graduate from University of Redlands Gus Romo, a University of Redlands graduate, fostered a valuable friendship with ex- Adelanto Planning Manager, Mark DeManincor. After DeManincor retired from the City of Adelanto, Romo seized the opportunity to bring him on board to assist with a diverse clientele.

  3. Served as a Community Development Director Gus Romo has over 30 years of civic experience working for jurisdictions throughout Southern California; in charge of 7 to 25 staff members at any one time; Gus Romo has served as a Community Development Director since 2007 for the following five (5) California cities on a full-time basis: Calimesa, Irwindale, Baldwin Park, Bell, and Bell Gardens.

  4. Founder of the Romo Planning Group, Inc. Gus Romo founded the Romo Planning Group, Inc., also known as RPG, in 2001. The company brings independent contractors together along with a group of employees to assist public agencies with civic staffing needs, including planners, building inspectors, environmental professionals.
