  1. Anna’s ChristmasLuke 2:36-38

  2. “Anna, let’s begin with you. Tell us about yourself.” “And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived with her husband seven years from when she was a virgin, and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day.” Luke 2:36-37

  3. “That sounds so sad. Why didn’t you remarry? And how are you not bitter?” “And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived with her husband seven years from when she was a virgin, and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day.” Luke 2:36-37

  4. “What do you mean ‘waiting for a Savior’. Rome has told us that Caesar Augustus is the ‘Savior of the whole world.’ He’s already here isn’t he? “And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived with her husband seven years from when she was a virgin, and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day.” Luke 2:36-37

  5. “Well, I’m not sure the Roman Senate would agree, but let’s move on. No one has ever heard of you before. People want to know who you are.” “And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived with her husband seven years from when she was a virgin, and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day.” Luke 2:36-37

  6. “Someone said you are a prophetess.” “And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived with her husband seven years from when she was a virgin, and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day.” Luke 2:36-37

  7. ‘What do you mean by ‘the darkness all around us?’ “And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived with her husband seven years from when she was a virgin, and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day.” Luke 2:36-37

  8. “What do you mean, the Quiet in the Land?” “And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived with her husband seven years from when she was a virgin, and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day.” Luke 2:36-37

  9. “But Anna, doesn’t it bother you that you are a woman, and considered less than a man?” “And there was a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years, having lived with her husband seven years from when she was a virgin, and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day.” Luke 2:36-37

  10. “Anna, you do seem to be a remarkable woman. Tell us about the day you met Jesus.” “And coming up at that very hourshe began to give thanks to God and to speak of him to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.” Luke 2:38

  11. “Can you tell us about Him?” “And coming up at that very hourshe began to give thanks to God and to speak of him to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.” Luke 2:38

  12. “Anna, we’re almost out of time, but explain what you meant when you just said the Messiah would redeem His people.” “And coming up at that very hourshe began to give thanks to God and to speak of him to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.” Luke 2:38

  13. “Anna, you are an amazing woman! My last question for you is this. What will you do with the rest of your life?” “And coming up at that very hourshe began to give thanks to God and to speak of him to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.” Luke 2:38
