  2. Round when: • You have been asked to estimate. • Look for the clue word “about”. • You need an easier number to work with.

  3. Rounding Poem Find your number. Look next door. If 4 or less, just ignore. If 5 or more, add 1 more.

  4. Round to the nearest ten. Find your number. 37 Underline your number.

  5. Round to the nearest ten. Look next door. 37 Draw an arrow to the “next door” number.

  6. Round to the nearest ten. If 4 or less, just ignore. 37 7 is more than 4, so move to the next line of the poem.
