  1. Finishing the Program

  2. Finishing Master’s Project • Final and complete draft • turned into advisor well before the end of the semester in which you are to graduate. • once they are satisfied with your project, they will arrange to get a second signature. • Arrange to have the project bound. • Turn in to Dr. Adler – CP520 a copy of your signature page with two faculty signatures and a receipt for the binding of your project. • Do not turn them in anywhere else! • The department will then send a “project complete” memo to the Graduate Office. • As soon as you are notified that the binding of your project is complete, you must deliver a bound copy to the Department Office or the Chair to complete the process.

  3. FINISHING THE DEGREE • Graduation check forms and the fee should have been turned in the semester prior to graduation. Contact the Graduate Office right away if this has not been done. • Complete all classes with an average of B or better. • Complete your master’s project • Department must send project completion memo to the Graduate Office

  4. Finishing Your Competencies • EDAD566 faculty turn in copies of the evidence coversheets for each of the standards that have been signed by your mentor and EDAD566 instructor. • Stapled together in numerical order. • You keep the evidence. • Dr. Adler will complete an exit-sign off sheet verifying that: • you have completed all of the required classes, • have a master’s degree, and • have turned in your evidence coversheets. • Dr. Adler will then complete an Exit Sign-off Sheet that goes to the Credential Analyst at CSUF so that you can apply for your certificate or credential.

  5. Types of Credential Applicationsfor those completing the program • Certificate of Eligibility • For those graduating who do not yet have a job offer or who are putting off a job search until a later time • Has no time limit • When you get a job your employer will convert the certificate to a credential • Preliminary Administrative Credential • For those who have a job offer or will begin working shortly • Has a five-year time limit for getting the Clear Administrative Credential • Requires verification of employment as an administrator

  6. Administrative Service Clear Credential • There are multiple routes to the credential • CSUF provides two ways to get the second part of the administrative credential • As a part of the EDD program • A single course that can be completed in as little as one semester • Requires that you have one year of administrative experience before taking the class • Requires that the Preliminary Credential be obtained by doing coursework.

  7. CSUF Credential Preparation Center • Use the self-addressed postage-paid envelope to return your application and $25 personal check to CSUF for the processing fee • The Center will electronically submit the CSUF recommendation to CTC once all requirements have been verified • CTC will send you an e-mail with instructions for you to complete the credential application online and submit your CTC fee of $55 plus a $2 on-line fee (credit or debit card required). You must use your university account (AOL accounts are blocked) • The Center is located in the building at the southeast corner of Nutwood and Commonwealth across the street from the campus, suite 740 (Mon-Fri 8-5) • (714) 278-3205 (fax 278 2868) • Joan Monteverde, Education Credential Specialist jmonteverde@fullerton.edu

  8. Steps in Completing Credential Application • Obtain the correct application from your EDAD566 instructor • Follow directions on the application packet • Complete the application forms noting whether you are applying for the certificate or the credential • Provide the required $25 check for fees • Mail application in self-addressed envelope to CSUF • Once CSUF has confirmed that you have met all the requirements, you will receive an e-mail from the CCTC with instructions on how to complete the online application and pay the $55 application fee and $2.00 on-line fee

  9. Must I wait for the credential to be issued before I can get a job? • No • Once your fee to CTC has been submitted, you will get an email from CTC verifying that you are eligible for the credential which may be used until the credential arrives for employment purposes.

  10. Student Files • Are retained for 5 years and then are shredded. • If you want recommendation letters, you should request them while we have your file. • If you do not apply for your certificate or credential within 4 years, you will have to update evidence of your competence.

  11. WHERE TO GO FOR HELP! • Before your exit-sign off sheet is completed by the department, call Dr. Adler 278-7673. • After your exit-sign off sheet is completed and credential application is submitted, contact Joan Monteverde 278-3205 if you have further credential questions.

  12. What if I need proof of completing the degree? • It may take up to three months for your degree to post to your transcript. • You should keep several sealed copies of your transcripts with your degree and catalog for future needs. • If you need proof that you have completed the degree for employment reasons prior to that, you can contact the Graduate Office at 278-2618 and ask for a “letter of completion.” • Course grades for the final semester will post to transcripts within a month or so.
