On March 30, 2011, the Derby Room at Leigh Library hosted a transformative workshop organized by LASARS and the Leigh Community Integration Project, with support from the Greater Manchester Black and Minority Ethnic Network and Refugee Action. This event aimed to inspire refugees to consider entrepreneurship and connect them with organizations that can support their business ideas. With 25 attendees, discussions covered various topics, from catering to import/export, featuring insights from local entrepreneur Asim Yassin. Participants engaged in valuable training sessions on business essentials.

What ideas? Paul Carroll , an “Enterprise Coach” has met with 5 refugees this week to help them explore the idea of starting up their own business. Refugees are attending 3 training sessions from the HMRC on tax and running your own business. !
