  4. Rocky Mountain Power has achieved national recognition for our strong commitment to renewable energy. It is a key part of our Integrated Resource Plan which called for having more than 2,000 megawatts of cost effective renewable resources by 2013. This goal has already been met.
  5. At year-end 2011, 28% of MidAmerican Energy Holdings Co. total generation capacity is from renewable and non-carbon sources.
  6. Geothermal:The Blundell Geothermal Plant sits on the Roosevelt Hot Springs Resource Area just north of Milford, Utah. The original unit was built in 1984 and produces 23 net megawatts.
  7. Unit 2 was built in 2007 and produces another 9 net megawatts employing an innovative heat-recovery process to extract more energy from the hot geothermal fluid left over from the steam separation cycle.
  8. This system uses four production wells and three injection wells that are distributed across an area approximately four miles long. About six miles of brine piping and 2 miles of steam piping tie the system together.
  9. Wind:According to the American Wind Energy Association, PacifiCorp (Rocky Mountain Power’s parent company) is the second-largest utility owner of wind resources in the nation, second only to sister utility MidAmerican Energy Company.
  10. PacifiCorp owns wind generation facilities which produce 3,240 megawatts and purchases output from other facilities of 2015 megawatts.
  11. Solar:MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company has recently announced two solar generation resource purchases.
  12. The Topaz Solar Farm in San Luis Obispo County, Calif., which is a 550-megawatt solar photovoltaic power plant scheduled to come on line in 2015.A 49% interest in the Agua Caliente solar project in Yuma County, Ariz. This is a 290-megawatt solar photovoltaic facility which is scheduled to come on line in 2014.
  13. Blue Sky:Our voluntary Blue Sky program is a way for customers to help bring even more renewable energy into the system and promote renewable energy development.
  14. For the past several years, Blue Sky has ranked in the top five utility green pricing programs by the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory, for the number of customers buying renewable power and for green power sales volume.
  15. There are 80,395 customers participating in the Blue Sky program in the six state area of PacifiCorp. The number of participants in Utah is 32,550.
