  2. A’s :) • Abolitionists : a person who strongly favors doing away with slavery. • Amendment : an addition to a formal document such as the constitution. Adams, Samuel : helped start an organization called “Sons of Liberty”

  3. B’s :) • Blockade Runner: ship that sails into and out of a blockade area. • Boycott : refuse to buy items for a particular country • Burgesses : elected representatives to an assembly

  4. Cash Crop : form crop raised to be sold for money. C’s :) • Cotton Gin : machine that removed seeds from cotton fiber. • Civil War : conflict between opposing groups.

  5. D’s :) • Depression : period of law economic activity and widespread. • Davis, Jefferson: senator of Missouri • Decree: order of decision given by one authority.
