  3. CVTS is a European enterprise survey on training in enterprises. It covers: CVT activities, i.e. planned training, organised or supported with the specific goal of learning, financed at least partly by the enterprises for their employees Training policies of enterprises EU-27 Member States and Norway Reference period 2005 (CVTS 3) Enterprises with 10 or more employees Sectors Manufacturing (NACE D), Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles, motorcycles and personal and household goods (NACE G) Financial intermediation (NACE J) Real estate, renting and business activities (NACE K) Other community, social and personal service activities (NACE O) Other: Mining and quarrying; Electricity, gas, water; Construction; Hotels and restaurants; Transport, communication (NACE C, E, F, H, I) What is CVTS3?

CVT stagnating at EU-level High share of enterprises with no skill needs Half of the training enterprises are assessing future skill needs by formal procedures at least occasionally Two thirds of the training enterprises are assessing training needs by structured interviews at least occasionally Do enterprises have an adequate assessment of their skill needs? What are the reasons for inadequate assessment of skill and training needs, and how to overcome this situation? Conclusions
