Sustainable Housing Solutions in Sub-Saharan Africa: The Nubian Vault Initiative

The Nubian Vault initiative addresses the housing crisis in Sub-Saharan Africa by utilizing the 3,500-year-old Nubian Vault technique. This method employs 100% earth-based materials—no wood, iron, or concrete—offering ecological, economical, and comfortable shelter. As desertification threatens resources, our approach promotes local skills through free apprenticeship programs, transforming masons into entrepreneurs. By creating self-sustaining markets, we aim to reverse the housing problem in the Sahel by 2025 through community involvement, local economies, and cultural restoration.
