  2. Why • To reduce MMR • To reduce IMR • To increase institutional delivery • To reduce Low Birth Rate Baby (LBW) • To ensure regular check up and monitoring of the health of the mothers • To get real time data for better monitoring and supervision

ANC tracking- To improve control and supervision • To ensure 100 percent registration of pregnant mothers • To ensure the timely medical checkup( 5 times) and provision of nutritional support • To identify high risk mother and to monitor their progress • To ensure institutional delivery • To ensure the timely payment of JSY benefits • To ensure timely and complete immunization of children between 0-6 years • To target eligible couples for adopting family planning methods • To reduce female secondary Feticide by ensuring monitoring of USG centers

How—By SMS based ANC tracking • Every ANM has a cell phone- formed a CUG • We have a data base of all the women in rural area aged 15-60 • As soon as a woman gets registered the ANM sends the SMS with all the required information to our server that updates the data • The automatically generated alerts keep the ANMs on their toes regarding the action to be taken on each ANC case

Advantages • Very simple -a server, SIM Card and CUG- inconsonance with future technology when every thing will combine on cell phone • Easy syntax therefore easy for ANMs to learn- no extra burden on them • Register 15, 16, 17 and 18 are automatically generated • Web based therefore one can see the data from any where • Economical – no extra investment as most of the ANMs have mobile phones. • Real time data for better monitoring • Instant communication • No other instrument is required like in other models where they are using simputers or touch screen based expensive mobile phones • New data can be easily added
