  3. Purpose Discuss community soccer fields throughout the county and seek BCC direction on funding and development of future soccer fields.

Background • October, 2013 BCC approved funding MLS Stadium • Orlando City Soccer agreed to fund O&M for up to 15 years at $200,000 per year • Other items agreed in MLS soccer stadium discussions • Donate property adjacent to Barber Park • Offer outreach programs to youth • Provide scholarships for youth soccer

Background • The County currently operates 15 athletic fields dedicated to youth soccer • Nine soccer fields have lights (7 regulation size) • Fields utilized by youth sports organizations • Rush Soccer Club at West Orange Park • South Orlando Soccer Club at Barber Park • Orlando City Youth Soccer League at Little Econ Soccer Complex and Arcadia Acres Park

  20. Next Steps • Continue with Park Development of John Young Park and Young Pine Park • Begin land acquisition and agreements • Initiate the design process • Budget amendment in January 2014 • Bid and construct fields 2014/2015 • Grand Openings – 2016

  21. Board Direction • Allocate Park Impact Fee funds as indicated to develop community soccer fields • Finalize negotiations for the acquisition of Lake George Park from the City of Orlando
